What to do when you have an autoimmune disease flare-up
If you are a person who suffers from some kind of autoimmune disease, then it’s likely that at one point or another your body has experienced the pain and frustration felt when symptoms flare up. Flare-ups can occur as a result of either external triggers (a change in diet for example) or they may happen without any indication whatsoever – not even an exertion on our part!

6 Ways to help yourself during an autoimmune disease flare-up
Practice Patience
The modern mentality fostered by the pharmaceutical approach has created a false belief and an instant cure. This causes some people who suffer from disorders to become discouraged when changes in diet don’t produce results quickly enough, or their flare-ups get worse instead of better as they try to lessen severity with fewer occurrences over time.
So if you’re looking for a quick fix, this isn’t it. But I have seen many people who were struggling and plagued with health problems after years on the same diet find relief through dietary changes that take time but are worth every minute spent working towards the betterment of their body’s condition.

Take your time and do it your way.
It’s hard enough to plan for your future when you have an autoimmune disorder, but the unpredictable nature of flares can make things even more challenging. The best way that I’ve found to cope is by thinking about what will be most important in case something goes wrong or if plans change unexpectedly- like they always do with us!
People who love and care about you understand that while the difficulties in your life make it difficult for now, they will get better with time. It is important to take a break from being constantly on-call when tired so as not to do any more harm than good by exhausting yourself further or catching some sort of illness because this isn’t fair towards those around us including ourselves; we all deserve our own personal space sometimes too!

Get as much sleep as you can.
With life coming at us like a blur, it’s easy to neglect our bodies and what they need. Lack of sleep can cause major damage if left unchecked for too long! Make sure you get enough zzzs so your body has time in order make repairs on anything that might be broken or missing while also getting some restful slumber – don’t forget about those needs before looking externally just because something isn’t perfect now doesn’t mean we won’t have another opportunity later on down the line.
Watch what you eat
The cause of your pain could be diet. Some foods, like sugar-rich items or those high in fat, can lead to more inflammation which will result in greater discomfort for you – so eat a healthy meal plan that includes plenty of vegetables!

Stay hydrated.
Water is most important when it comes to autoimmune disease flare-ups because dehydration can cause symptoms of autoimmune disorders to worsen. Make sure you are drinking at least six glasses each day in order to prevent this from happening!
Take care of yourself.
The autoimmune disorder you’re struggling with doesn’t define who you are. It’s just something that happens, but the way we react to it says everything about how much control we really have in our lives and what kind of person we want people to see when they look at us!
It is more important than ever to practice self-care when you are dealing with a flare-up. Take a relaxing hot bath, read a book, binge watch your favorite television show. Do something just for yourself that allows your body to relax and heal itself.
It is important to rest as much as possible when dealing with a flare-up. Your body will go back into remission. If you push yourself to do too much at once, it will take that much longer for remission to happen.
Flare-ups can be very stressful, but by implementing some of the tips above you will hopefully find yourself in a much better state both mentally and physically to deal with whatever comes your way!
