We always want to keep our home and family as healthy as we possibly can. This is especially true during the current Covid-19 epidemic. Did you know they make a home sterilizer machine to help sterilize your belongings?
This is perfect for parents of babies that need/want to sterilize things like bottles, pacifiers, and their favorite toys. We all know how babies love to put anything and everything in their mouths. As we get older, we forget to make sure our own possessions are as clean as possible. It helps to have a healthier lifestyle.

How does a home sterilizer work?
Everyone is cautious these days about using harsh chemicals in our homes around our family and pets. The get thing about this home sterilizer machine from Coraluv is that it does not use chemicals at all. It sterilizes your belongings with an UV light.
According to their website:
- Effortlessly eliminate toxic germs that linger on your items by killing 99.9% of harmful bacteria and virus in 10 minutes!
- Dries your items in a warm temperature, safe for plastics, glass, or silicone.
- Fits up to 4-6 bottles with caps and nipple.
- Uses 2 Philips UV-C lamps with the best in class quality. Most countertop sized UV sterilizers use only 1 bulb which is half of the disinfection strength we use.
- Our lamp cover is designed to allow UV lights to travel freely with little interference. It is also pressure tested to protect UV lights from breakage due to external force.
- Free from lead and phthalate, independent lab tested.
I do not have babies in the home anymore. I used the home sterilizer machine to sterilize our face masks. We have homemade fabric facemasks that can be machine washed or hand washed. I wanted to try them out in the sterilizer. There is a removable basket you can place items in, but I just place them in the bottom of the unit.

The machine is super quiet when it is running. I placed the masks in the bottom of the machine, shut the lid, and pressed “sterilize and dry”. It ran for 50 minutes. You can make it run for shorter times by adjusting the features. I simply pressed the on the button and let it do its thing. When it was done running it made a small ding noise to signal the cycle was complete.
Upon completion our masks smelled fresh and clean and were nice and warm. They felt like they would if we took them out of the clothes dryer. Now we know that our masks are completely sanitized and will protect us as much as possible when we leave the house.
Different home sanitizer functions
As I mentioned, I used the sanitize and dry feature. There are also 3 other features you can choose from. Here is a description of all 4 features:
* Sanitize and dry
This sterilizes the items for 10 minutes and then dries them for, however, long you set the timer for. This setting is recommended for things such as bottles, pacifies, and breast pump parts.
* Sterilize only
This uses the UV lights only. This is used for items that can not be washed and do not need dried.
* Dry only
Use this for items that are washed but do not need sterilized. NOTE: DO NOT DRY ELECTRONICS.
*24 Hour
This will run a 50 minute sterilize and dry cycle and then run every 2 minutes run a UV sterilization cycle every 2 hours for up to 24 hours.
This home sterilizer machine is light weight and fits on your tabletop or counter. It can be then put away in a cupboard or closet for storage when not in use. I even received extra filters with mine.
If you are looking for the perfect baby shower gift that is not the normal gift, this is perfect! I feel everyone needs one in their house regardless if you have a baby or not.
