I always come across words I do not know when I’m reading. Before cell phones, I used to read with a dictionary near me. Now I just look up the word on my phone.

One of my favorite advantages of reading is the stress reduction. When I’m curled up with a book, I am concentrating on what I’m reading and not what is stressing me out about life. We all have stress in life. Taking a break from it doing something like reading, can also help you find solutions to things that are stressing you out.

Establishing a bedtime reading routine can signal to your body that it’s time to wind down. Engaging in a calming activity like reading before sleep helps to shift your mind away from the day’s stresses, leading to more restful and better-quality sleep.

Another advantage of reading books is improved sleep. I love to read right before bed. I curl up in bed with my favorite blanket, mountains of pillows, and my Kindle. I read until I am either tired, or my eyes will not focus anymore. I get better quality sleep when I fall asleep.

This is one of the advantages of reading that I found is true. My attention span for things I’m interested in is a lot longer. As I mentioned earlier, I can read a book in a day when I have the time. I have found that my attention span is longer for other things as well.
