I am at the point in my life where I need to have the extra security of having a medical alert device at all times. This is peace of mind not only for myself but for my loved ones.

When you first receive your medical alert jewelry your first step is to download their app from your phone's app store. There is an app for both android and iPhone. After you install the app the first step is to create an account. It just asks for your email and password to create an account.
The app allows you to add up to 5 emergency contact numbers. These are people that the app will notify in case of an emergency when you activate the necklace by pressing on the charm. I personally have my daughter and my boyfriend added to mine. When you first add their information it will send them a text message notifying them that you added them and they reply to confirm.
Under settings, you can add your medical information such as any medications you are allergic to, medical conditions, and medications that you take. This is a great added benefit for emergencies in case you are able to speak.
There is an add-on subscription that you can buy that will automatically notify 911 for you when you activate the device. To activate it, you simply press the charm twice. I do plan to add this service to mine for added security.

There are some things I want to point out about this medical alert jewelry so that you are aware of it. The more information you have, the more prepared you can be to make sure you make an informed decision about your purchase.
- You should not get your device wet. It is advised that you remove it when you do the dishes, go swimming or shower.
- You need to keep the Bluetooth setting turned on at all times on your phone. Although the software connects to your phone via Bluetooth it will not show up as connected. Do not try to connect, or use the “forget” feature. It is running even if you do not think it is.
- If you do not have a paid subscription service added, you will only be able to send an alert to your emergency contacts that you added. The paid service allows you to also send an alert to 911.
