Working from home definitely has its perks. You can take a break whenever you want, wear whatever you want, and work in your PJs if you feel like it. But sometimes, working from home can get a little boring. That’s why we’ve put together a list of fun unique home office gift ideas that will make working from home even better!
Since the pandemic more and more people are becoming remote workers and are working from home. You may also be a freelancer of some sort like myself and have always worked from home. The following are the best home office accessories that I have and love. They make my job so much easier.

Sidetrak Dual Computer Monitor
When you do any kind of computer work, you obviously start at your computer screen for a long period of time. I know I am on my laptop for most of the day/night. Having a dual screen increased my productivity and it has quickly become one of my favorite home office accessories. The best part about the Sidetrak dual screen is that it is safe to use with any laptop, and can be added to the left or right-hand side. If you wanted, you can even purchase 2 for one on EACH side.
Now that I use 2 screens, I do not know how I have worked with just one screen for so long. I will mention that it does make your laptop heavier. While you can still use your laptop on your lap, I recommend some kind of laptop table. It does not have to be fancy.
KROSER Laptop Bag
Every home office needs a good quality bag to store essential accessories. Although I work for myself and from home, there are times that I want to get out for a change of scenery. Having a good bag to carry all of my many computer accessories makes it so much easier to commute on the bus. What I love about the KROSER laptop bag is all of the room there is! I also use this next to me on the couch as I do not have a home office anymore since staying with my daughter. Bonus? the laptop bag has a port and cords for you to hook up your personal portable power bank to charge your phone from the outside of the bag. Genius!
Odinlake Office Chair
One of the most practical gift ideas for someone with their own home office is an office chair. The Odinlake office chair is easy to put together. I am not mechanically inclined, but I was able to follow the instructions perfectly and put this chair together myself in only a matter of minutes.
RocketBook
A RocketBook is a great gift for anyone, especially someone that creates daily to-do lists. Everyone knows that having a bunch of notebooks is an important home office accessories, or any office accessory. RocketBook is not your typical notebook. You write in it using a Fusion pen, and then it can be erased with water.
The page can be scanned into your computer for safekeeping using a QR code on the page. This is a great way to help save the environment because you don’t waste a ton of paper. They come in different sizes and colors. There are different colored ink for the Fusion pens and even highlighters as well.
I absolutely love my RocketBook. All of my files for my businesses are on my computer, however, during zoom calls I use it to write down quick notes of what we discuss. I can write faster than I can type. I simply scan the notes into my computer using their app and then save them in the correct folder on my computer.
ICANSIT
I have a few enlarged discs in my back. The disc that gives me the most problems is the one between L4-L5, or right above my tailbone. Due to this, I have severe pain when I sit for prolonged periods of time. Using a seat cushion such as this one from ICANSIT helps to make it more comfortable to spend hours on my laptop.
A Personal Scanner
There are times you have to scan documents for any sort of business. You may even need to scan documents for your private life. A lot of printers have the ability to scan but it’s just a flat scanner. The FUJITSU Scanner ScanSnap iX1300 scans U-turn Scan for continuous scanning and Return Scan for folded documents, cards, etc. This is perfect for scanning business cards you may receive for your business or pamphlets.
I love that the scanner itself is small and lightweight. You can put it away on a shelf or in the closet until it is needed. You typically do not scan as often as you need to print. The scanner is also Wi-Fi capable. I love when my devices do not have to be hooked up directly to my laptop to work.
Loop Earplugs
There are times I do my best work when I am not at my computer desk. Sometimes I go to the library or out to the local coffee shop. The downside is, sometimes they can be loud. Loop earplugs let you still hear everything around you, they just diminish the sound a bit. This is great for people that are over-sensitive to sound.
For example, I live with anxiety and I can get overstimulated easily. Wearing earplugs such as the ones from Loop Earplugs let me be able to hear my surrounding but the sound is not so loud and I don’t get overwhelmed as much or as fast. Being able to tune out outside noise to be able to concentrate is one of the very important home office accessories you can have.
Lap Desk
There are times I do not want to work at my desk due to chronic pain. A lap desk makes it perfect to work from bed or on the couch. There are different styles of lap desks. Some have a pillow-type filling on the bottom and actually sit on your lap. They may or may not have a spot for your tablet/cell phone. The disadvantage to this style is that your laptop may feel heavier on your lap depending on how heavy your laptop is in general.
Another option is a lap desk that goes over your lap, not on your lap. There are many different versions of this type of lap desk. The benefit of this style is that some are adjustable to change the surface angle. This makes it more comfortable to use. If you are buying one for a gift for someone it is a good idea to think about the gift recipient and what style of the desk would fit them best.
USB Reading Lamp
I absolutely love my USB reading lamp. It gives off just enough light so that I can see my keyword and notebooks without being overwhelming. I often work in the living room with other family members late at night that perfer the light out to not have the glare on the television. I just use my USB reading lamp and I have enough light for what I need. It has a bendable neck so I can position it how I need to. It also has 3 settings in brightness by just tapping the light.
Bluetooth Mouse
One of my absolute favorite home office accessories is my bluetooth mouse. I no longer have to worry about batteries, or taking up a USB port for my mouse. The buttons are also silent. This means I do not hear the clicking noise when I click the buttons on my mouse. The mouse is so small that it fits into the palm of my hand.
This is the first time I have owned a bluetooth mouse, I don’t think I will ever own a regular USB mouse ever again.
